Harley Davidson motorcycles are arguably the most popular motorcycle brand in the world, and for a very good reason. They have been around for a very long time, and they are associated as both vintage and a modern ride, with designs that truly captivate the eye.
The motorcycles are definitely amazing in every way, but it’s completely understandable if somebody would want to further improve their riding experience with some new and improved Harley seats. There are plenty to choose from, and they sometimes offer vastly different benefits, so you would have to understand what they offer from the start.
Mustang 75595 Fastback
This seat is almost always chosen as the perfect one for every type of rider due to its excellent back support. It is also very affordable, as it’s considered a budget seat, but there is no quality lost as a result. On the contrary, it often feels like the quintessential Harley Davidson seat that everyone should get to experience.
With that said, one of the best benefits of this seat is that it keeps the rider in a comfortable position, as it limits how much you can slide back in the saddle, which is often a problem with a lot of motorcycle seats in general.
Because of the high-rising wall that gives great back support, you can ride for extended periods of time without feeling any discomfort. On top of that, it’s quite beautiful to look at and merges perfectly with the motorcycle’s seat with a very quick and easy installation. However, it doesn’t line up all too well with the rear fender.
Mustang Tripper Solo Seat
One of the main advantages of the Mustang Tripper Solo Seat is that it’s extremely comfortable. It’s quite stylish too, but its most popular feature is the Tripper passenger seat, which allows the rider to sit a bit lower and back. Riding this with a partner is also great, and due to the great comfort of the seat, you can expect to be able to ride it for longer. However, the slight negative is that it only fits on Sportster models.
Senkauto Black Bobber
If you’re in the market for a brand new Harley Davidson seat but want something that looks a bit old-fashioned, the Senkauto Black Bobber Solo might be the ideal choice for you. It’s made with black and soft synthetic leather and has a unique design that catches the eye. On top of that, the leather material significantly adds to the seat’s overall resilience, meaning you won’t have to worry about its durability.
This Harley seat is made with neoprene foam, so you can always expect to feel comfortable, as that is one of its greatest strengths. This means you’ll be able to ride for longer.
On top of that, it’s incredibly easy to set up, and you won’t be needing any tools, but the bracket base might require you to make some adjustments. This type of installation means that it’s possible that this seat might not fit on some models.
Rich Choices Custom Solo
Out of all the Harley Davidson seats on this list, this one arguably has the best design. It’s not only a great-looking and extremely comfortable seat, but it fits practically every Harley model out there.
The stylish design of the seat is perfect for adding some extra décor to your Sportster, and you can expect it to last a very long time because the materials this seat is made out of are premium. The Custom Solo is quite comfortable, as it’s made out of neoprene foam and soft brown leather, so you don’t have to worry if you’re riding for extended periods of time.
Also, installing it is quite easy and quick, so there is no hassle, but it’s possible that you might have to somewhat improvise because some users have complained about either missing parts or them not fitting perfectly.
Artudatech Leather
The Artudatech Leather is an amazing two-up seat that has a very sleek and elegant look. It’s an inherently good fit for most, if not all, Harley motorcycles because of the black leather design.
The seat itself is incredibly comfortable, as it’s made with thick but also soft foam, with a pillow style that allows the rider to be on a Harley for longer than usual. It’s also very lightweight and resilient, as it has a strong and soft synthetic leather pad, meaning it won’t crack or break any time soon. Installing it is quite a breeze, but it’s possible that it won’t fit some models.
How to Choose the Right Seat
It’s all about comfort when it comes to choosing the right Harley motorcycle seats. There are a few things you should always keep in mind.
Size and Shape
It’s critical to measure the length and width of your current seat, as well as match the scopes with the seat cushion you’re planning on buying. That’s because you want to be absolutely certain the seat you’re getting will fit.
Position
The ideal seat position practically always comes down to personal preference, but it’s worth noting that some seats raise it while others lower it. Thicker padding always raises it, while thin padding lowers it and gives a low-cut position for riding.
Features
Everyone loves it when their bike has some extra features, and that is exactly what some seats offer. The backrest is one such feature that will definitely increase your comfort levels, but it will almost always increase the seat’s price. If you’re looking for something on a limited budget, you might want to forego some extra features.
Comfortable seats are an absolute godsend when it comes to riding a motorcycle, especially for longer periods of time. They can make all the difference in the world about whether or not you actually enjoy riding your Harley, which is why getting the proper seat should be the first thing you do after getting your motorcycle. It might take a while to find the right one for your needs, but once you do, you’ll be certain that you made the right decision to get one in the first place.
